     Name: Stayka Staneva Laleva

    Academic status and scientific degree: Professor, PhD

    Scientific field of activity: Breeding, selection and live- stock breeding technologies, study of production traits and genetic parameters, research on the quality characteristics of sheep products- meat, milk and wool; study of the possibilities for increasing the efficiency of production in livestock breeding, examining the relation between productivity and animal health status; possibilities to reduce the environmental footprint of animal food production, digestion and fertilizers; effects of various biologically active substances / probiotics, ionophore antibiotics, veterinary medicinal products / to develop effective technologies for reducing greenhouse emissions from livestock breeding.

    Curriculum Vitae (CV): In 1981, graduated VIZVM in Stara Zagora, specialty zooengineering. In 1985 she was appointed as a research associate in the Breeding and Technology of sheep breeding at the same institute. In 1996 she defended her PhD. thesis on "Reproductive ability of sheep from different productive fields" and received the educational and scientific degree "PhD". In 1998 she acquired the scientific title of Assoc. Prof., specialty "Sheep and Goat".

    She is Deputy Director of IAS - Kostinbrod (2000-2003) and since 2004 Director of the Agricultural Institute, Stara Zagora. She is a member of scientific organizations from the system of the SAA as a member of: scientific council of IAS- Kostinbrod in the period 2000-2003, scientific council of the AI-Karnobat, scientific council of Stara Zagora, the Animal Husbandry Commission at Higher Attestation Commission, the Editorial Board of the Animal science magazine, Scientists union- Stara Zagora, and honor organizer of the International Scientific Conference of Scientists union - Stara Zagora. She participates in the Association for Breeding Dairy Sheep, Non-Profit Organization "Mouton Charollais Bulgaria".

    Participates in 39 research and training projects, of which 28 is a contractor and 11 is a manager. She has five PhD students:  1 of whom defended, 2 assigned, 2 before defense. She have been carried out 1500 lecture courses on Sapard-funded projects, ODA HR for support for the development of PhD students and young scientists, MLSP - training of unemployed in livestock breeding. Under its leadership, an adult education center was set up under the PHARE program. She is a Leader in project VOTRIS by program Leonardo and many others. Awards: Honor sign for contributions to the development of agricultural science of the SAA 2009, award from IASRA for Contribution to the Selection 2012. Participates in a team received a patent certificate for registration of utility model № 1473 / 04.10.2011g. "Zoovit- Biologically Active Product for Livestock".
