Scientific field of activity: Breeding, selection and live- stock breeding technologies, study of production traits and genetic parameters, research on the quality characteristics of sheep products- meat, milk and wool; study of the possibilities for increasing the efficiency of production in livestock breeding, examining the relation between productivity and animal health status, conduction of research on resistance and biochemical indicators of blood in sheep from different productive strands, detecting the impact of anticoagulants in animal food on production traits etc.
Curriculum Vitae (CV): Prof. Slavova graduated from the Higher Institute of Zootechnics and Veterinary Medicine - Stara Zagora, specialty "Zoo-engeneering" in 1984. Since 1989 she is a researcher at the Agricultural Institute- Stara Zagora, Section "Breeding and technologies in sheep breeding". The topic of her dissertation is "Study on the variability of selection traits in Thracian fine-wool sheep breed and opportunities for improvement through cross-breeding with Australian merino rams". In 2000 she is given a PhD degree and in 2003 the title "Associated professor" in the scientific specialty "Sheep and goat breeding". In 2016 became a "Professor" in the scientific specialty "Animal breeding, biology and biotechnology of reproduction". She is a supervisor of 3 research projects and contractor in over 27. Publishing activity- over 126 scientific and scientific-popular papers. Scientific and organization activity- Scientific secretary since 2004, Head of Scientific Department "Breeding and technology in sheep breeding", Chairman and member of Organizational committees of national and international scientific conferences. Expert activity - a member of the Scientific Jury for the acquisition of academic positions, a reviewer of scientific papers, projects and reports; member of committees. Prof. Slavova is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Animal Breeding, Sheep news and the issues of Scientific Union- Stara Zagora.
She has some teaching activities with farmers and students-practitioners and is supervisor of PhD students.
